Turtle Beach Ear Force AK-R8 puts ten speakers in your ears
How many speakers does a gaming headset need to accurately reveal the position of your enemies when they are sneaking behind you? Turtle Beach thinks you need ten speakers and produced the Ear Force AK-R8 Gaming Headset.
For me it seems too much plus the fact that your ears have to be placed at some distance from the sound source in order to give you the surround feeling you get from regular 5.1 systems. To make things more attractive for the end user Turtle Beach offers also a removable mic, a 10 band, six channel EQ and a function to hear the sound outside the headphones, assuring that people in the same room with you will know what you’re playing.

Price is a pretty high 150 $, but for some it will be money well spent. I doubt Ear Force AK-R8 sounds better than, let’s say, iPod earphones, but let’s pretend we have a new exciting product here.
