Transparent displays are the next big thing

Even if you have a state of the art gadget, there’s a big chance someone is researching something even better right now.

Sometimes we get a glimpse of what people are researching next. Today we find out about transparent monitors, which are developed by Universal Display Corporation in New Jersey.

Till today they were able to make a display 75% transparent when turned off, thanks to electroluminescent films called OLED (Organic Light Emiting Diode). The next step is making transparent the power circuitry, that delivers electricity to pixels. If you cand just close your eyes and thing of the next years imagine that we will read from a flexibile piece of plastic, that when we are done reading will turn transparent.

We will buy clothes with integrated displays, cars with displays embedded in side windows and even shoes with changing texture. Now open your eyes and stop dreaming, as we said, transparent displays are just in research phase, for now.
