The miracle of light

The miracle of light

I don’t usually write about graphics or movies, but this thing here let me speechless. It’s a marvelous visual art clip, combined with a fine relaxing sound theme. You really have to see this. I guarantee you won’t regret it. Simply amazing…

the MagnetosphereThe person from whose hands came this clip is Robert Hodgin, and he worked with an open source programming language called Processing. This development software is used to program images, animations and sound, teaching its users the fundamentals of computer programming with the help of a visual context. Developed by professional artist and designers, this ”tool” help talented people create masterpieces like these ones here.

This can make you an idea about the Magnetosphere, but please view the High Detail Clip on the link bellow for more details

the MagnetosphereRobert claims on his blog that he’s a beginner in computer programming, especially OpenGL. He’s just being modest, if you ask me… Just look at this videos, the Supernova and the Magnetosphere. As i said before, the High Quality version of this clips are really breath taking.

After seeing the work of Robert, the first thing that passed trough my mind was to take a look at this Processing software, since i know some OpenGL (i learn this in school), but i always thought this programming language is obsolete. I’m sure i won’t get such animations like this one, but i will give it a try. I’ll keep you in touch with my results, if they will be worth showing…
