TAG Heuer teams with ModeLabs to produce cellphone watches

TAG Heuer, a popular watch manufacturer since 1860 (popular here has meaning of well known, because it’s products are not for the masses), teamed up recently with French firm ModeLabs, a custom phones manufacturer, in an effort to produce the Swiss company’s first cellphone watch.

TAG Heuer it’s not the first luxury big name that joins cellphone manufacturer, actually it’s not even in Top 5 if you count D&G, Prada, Aston Martin, McLaren, Swarovski and others. But what’s with this crazy new idea? Well, I’ll try to sum it up in a few words: take one regular phone, write up a big brand name on it, throw some custom ring-tones and wallpapers in equation, and the price skyrockets, along with product margins.

TAG Heuer’s first cellphone watch may look like above, but it’s possible, not probable

The first mock-up image of the forthcoming product surfaced the web these days, but it’s unlikely that the final product with resemble a classic TAG Heuer wristwatch, so stay tuned for further news on this subject.
