Sony presented today their newest L series Notebook. I call it a notebook, but actually we’re talking about a revolutionary PC concept, different than everything built before, in form and technology.
The Sony Vaio L series combines a futuristic form, with a stylish polycarbonate chassis, and a big quality 15.4" display. That makes it suitable for both entertainment and business usage. The chassis, besides the nice look, provides a reliable and durable cover for the technology inside. The foldable keypad with a touch-pad near it seems pretty cool, but I’m not so sure how well will it perform over time, under heavy utilisation.

Great looks and good functionality, that could be a recipe for success
Anyway, inside the Sony Vaio L rests a monster: The Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor, with a clock frequency of 1.83 GHz, 1 Gb DDR2 and 120 GB hard drive.

Big wide screen + foldable keyboard = Sony Vaio L
The multimedia functions of this notebook were given special attention. The L Series come with two 3W high quality speakers, driven by a Sound Reality audio chip. Besides that, when the keyboard is folded, some applications, like the music player, time and calendar remain visible and working on the upper (not covered) part of the screen, for easy access.

The upper part of the display shows the clock and the calendar
In the end, this laptop certainly keeps pace with the Sony Vaio line. Cool and powerful! As for the price, it won’t be a small one for sure, but let’s face it: quality products don’t come cheap. My only concern is the durability of the L series, as that part of the screen not covered by the keyboard seems very very exposed, knowing how fragile LCD monitors can be…
