Sony NW-A800 attacks Apple and iriver flash based MP3 players
Competition in flash memory MP3 players segment just got fierce with Sony launching the new NW-A800, a series with 2 to 8 GB models featuring video playback capabilities. Sony intends to give competitors a run for the money and promises 30 hours of playback for ATRAC files and 8 hours for MPEG4.

Sony NW-A800 is available in multiple colors, as you might expect
Videos in H.264 format are played on a 2" QVGA screen (much bigger than iPod Nano). Supported audio codecs are AAC, WMA, MP3 and ATRAC. The available models are NW-A805 (2 GB), NW-A806 (4 GB) and NW-A808 (8 GB). I can’t see why the aren’t named A802, A804 and A808 but I don’t want to mess with the Japanese guys.
Design it’s not so great, it looks more like a recorder, but not the looks are making NW-A800 appealing. The 8 GB model can be yours for around 400 US dollars.
