Sony LA3Sony kicked out yesterday their new desktop system LA3. This PC is actually a Media Center, capable of functioning as a computer, DVD or TV, while being very slim and having some incredible good looks. Unfortunately, all these don’t come cheap at all.

The LA3 packs an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor with 1.83 Ghz, a NVidia GeForce Go 7600 potent graphic board, 2 GB of RAm and a massive 320 GB storage disk. All these in a compact case, measuring around 500 x 350 x 190 mm and weighting no more then 7 kg. So, no bulky and noisy case for your desktop computer, as we have compact products like this one, or the Apple iMac.

Very slim for a desktop computer, but way too expensive

For displaying purposes, the LA3 uses a wide 19" monitor, with a nice 1680 x 1050 resolution. More then enough for web surfing, playing games and even watching movies. Cause, like i said, the LA3 can be easily used as a TV, needing only to connect the adequate cables.

The Sony LA3, containing all the things said above, plus some extras like wireless connectivity, webcam and Windows Vista Family Premium, will be shipped for 1.999 euros (that’s around 2700 $), starting from this month. I agree, it looks great and is a capable system, but it’s way too expensive, don’t you think?
