Art Lebedeev, the authors of Optimus, the over 1000 $ keyboard with LED keys, has now presented another great design, the Sonicum computer speakers. As you might expect, they took a radical approach to what we usually get when we buy a new sound system.

Modern design is the new bling today
What sets Sonicum apart is the speakers design, that feature a profile inspired by the Windows system tray sound icon, with see trough interior. The subwoofer is pretty standard, but then again, it won’t be the part that you’ll display most on table. RMS power is nothing to brag about: 15 W for subwoofer and 2 x 5 W for speakers. Signal to noise ratio is not great either, hovering at 80 dB.

Sonicum is a regular 2.1 speaker system, if you don’t take design into account
The good part is that Sonicum will be available at a more affordable price that what we’re used to see from Art Lebedeev. From May 7th you’ll be able to purchase Sonicum for around 120 $. If you preorder now, you’ll get a 40 $ discount.
