Sharp EM ONE, the good, the bad and the ugly
Japan is undoubtedly the most technologically advanced country in the world, but not every new gizmo is necessarily a god one. Today we take a look at EM ONE, a Sharp PDA branded by the Japanese EM Mobile operator.

Sharp did a good job with EM ONE, it looks from the future, so it fit’s well in Japan
If you take a look at the specs, EM ONE is pretty advanced: 520 MHz Intel PXA CPU, 4.1" 800 x 480 pixels screen, 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2, NVIDIA GoForce TM5500 and HSDPA data connection only. Yeah, you got that right, no voice. I know that if you have a smartphone or PDA phone, you spend a lot of time doing other things than talking with friends, but you might want to do that sometime.
Imagine sending an S.O.S. SMS, it’s not that funny or fast. What will also make you look the other way is the price: 635 €, not much….for a laptop. The QWERTY slide keyboard scores some points, but no Windows Mobile 6 takes them back. Also you cannot unlock the EM ONE, so you have to stick with EM Mobile (not a big problem here if you live in Japan).

You have to slide horizontally the EM ONE to get to the 1.3 megapixel camera
Maybe next time, till then I will stick with i-mate Ultimate 7150 and HTC Athena, my favourites products this time.
