Samsung Ultra Edition II

After launching the extra smart phone F700 last week, Samsung is planing to impress us again at 3GSM 2007, in Barcelona, this week. And that by announcing the new Ultra Edition line, mark II. Smart choice for doing that now, with the press eyes pointed on the Catalonian capital from 12th to 15th February.

But let’s see exactly what do we get. The new Ultra Edition II includes four new phones:

• two sliders: Ultra Edition 10.9 (U600) and Ultra Edition 12.1 (U700)
• a clam-shell: Ultra Edition 9.6 (U300)
• the world’s slimmest phone: Ultra Edition 5.9 (U100)

As you know, the nomenclature comes from the thickness of the gadget. So 5.9 mm for a phone is incredible, if you ask me… But I’m sure things won’t stop here.

The Ultra Edition II line: staring, in order of appearence, 5.9, 10.9 and 9.6

I wrote about the Ultra Edition 10.9 earlier, so take a look about what’s capable. Shortly, it comes with a 2.22 screen, 3.2 Mpx camera, Mp3/video player and so much more. The Ultra Edition 12.1 is just it’s overwheighted and smarter brother, bringing HDSPA data transfer as a plus.

The Samsung Ultra Edition 9.6 metallic clam-shell features a 3MP, TV-out capability, Bluetooth and a 70MB memory. And the Samsung Ultra Edition 5.9… Well, what can i say about it. At only 5.9 mm thick, you won’t accept much from this phone. But you couldn’t be more wrong, cause Samsung equipped it with a 3MP camera, a 1.93" color TFT screen and an Mp3/video player capable of around 11 hours of continuous music music play. So it could be a good replacement for your iPod too…

The 4 samurais and the 3 Spanish girls

The phones will come in various colours, like sapphire blue, garnet red, platinum metal and copper gold. And will be available for sale on the European market in the early March. In the end, all i can say I’m kind of jealous i can’t get to 3GSM 2007… Especially after seeing this pictures above…
