Saitek Obsidian mouse teaches Apple how touchless should be likeIf you follow gadget news daily you must have read about Apple’s plans to launch a new radical mouse design this year, with touchless action. Well, thinks don’t always happen as planned, and Saitek, a well known peripheral manufacturer (they even manufacture some parts for the Space Shuttle) launched their touchless version of a mouse: the black Obsidian.

For just 50 $ you get a touchless scroll wheel (because it’s touchless there’s no wheel actually), wireless receiver and a high precision 1000 dpi optical sensor. When not in use the Obsidian can be charged via the USB dock delivered by Saitek. The color scheme, black and white, with rounded curves suggests that Obsidian is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X, so there you have it, there’s no Ying and Yang.
