Cypres conceptThe beginning of 2007 seems to be the time chosen by many producers of mobile phones to launch their newest innovative creations, like the LG Prada or the Apple iPhone. It is now time to present you the Cypres Concept, a design coming all away from the land of the rising sun, Japan.

We won’t speak about the technological enhancements this phone brings on the market. No, because its best point is the design, not the mechanics.

Dull colours
Dull colours and round tiny buttons. Is this a receipt for success?

As you can see, the Cyprus Concept seems to be brought from another dimension. It has a retro style, with round buttons and kind of a classic shape. But the case is transparent, allowing you to see the components inside this gadget. And they are all grey. It’s like this device is dead, cause it has no colour at all.

Cyprus Concept: classic and innovative bound to together

Personally, i think highly of this concept and its unique idea of showing us the "dark side" of a phone, meaning its interior of course. That happens maybe cause I haven’t seen many gadgets having the same feature on the market.

Some of you won’t like it, some will love it. But in the end it’s just a concept, and only Nao Tamura, its designer, knows if it will reach mass production somewhere in the future or not…
