PlayStation 3 lands in EuropeSony angered many gamers when they announced that the launch of their latest gaming console, the PlayStation 3, in Europe and Australia, would be postponed for the first quarter of 2007, without giving the exact date of the release. So, after being available in Japan and USA since November last year, Sony has at last stated that PlayStation 3 will land in Europe and Down Under on the 23th of march.

So we only have 2 more months to wait… We all know what the PlayStation 3 brings, but if you don’t, take a look at the technical specs here.

PlayStation 3
Sony PlayStation: it’s great but isn’t it a little overpriced?

But every good news come with some bad ones, so here we go. First of all, there will only be one million devices available for Europe, and all of them will be of the higher priced 60 GB version. So no PS3 20 GB for Europeans. That’s crap. Not to mention that, if in USA the 60 GB model costs 600$, in Europe it  will cost around 800$ (€600 actually). Where does this difference come? Beats me… And for you folks down under, no reason of joy also, cause the PlayStation 3 in your country would come for A$1000 (around $800).

So, I’m wondering if i should spend 800 bucks on a gaming console (plus the fact that i would have to sit at some very looooong waiting lines in front of the stores that would sell the PS3) or do something better with them. And I’m leaning towards the second option right now, unfortunately.
