Play that funky iPod

Play that funky iPod

We’re talking here about a sound system meant for the iPod. So what, you’ll say, there are hundreds of this kind of devices on the market. Not really, cause this one, produced bye EOS, is completely wireless.

The central piece of this gadget is the most important one, cause it contains the docking station, the controls, a speaker and the transmitter. From here, the signal is sent to up to 4 wireless satellites, situated up to 150 feet (50 m), without any loss in audition quality. This way you can place your speakers in any corner of your house, but i would recommend sticking to only one room, cause you know that walls can be a big problem for this kind of transmission. And you should take into consideration, that even though we speak about wireless connection, the satellites still have to be powered from a plug. So you don’t really get rid of all those cables…

It doesen’t matter if the EOS is black or white, as long as it is wireless

Anyway, extraordinary acoustic engineering gives the EOS system an incomparable deep rich sound quality, benefiting from the SRS WOW(R) sound enhancement technology. The guys beside this project praise the EOS’ audio link, that allows to broadcast impeccable CD quality sound, with no interferences with Wi-Fi or other wireless connections.

As i said, this system is meant for the iPod, but if you don’t have the Apple gadget, you can always plug-in other MP3 players and even a CD-player, via the auxiliary ports.

The design of the EOS device isn’t astonishing but it’s nice nonetheless: classic and stylish, with both black and white as base colours, it will fit any modern decent home. As for the prices, lesser wires mean of course higher costs. You’ll have to get out of your pocket 200$ for the base station and additional 150$ for each of the satellites. So, for a total of 800$, if my math isn’t letting me down, you get what the producers claim to be “a wireless sound system to good to be true”.
