OQO returns with Model 02
If you consider that sub-notebooks are in fact very small notebooks then how can be called a OQO product? Maybe a very-small-sub-notebook… Their first product, Model 1, with an easy to remember name, and a very small footprint, managed to impress the IT press all overt the world. Despite it’s size and limitation it was capable of running Windows XP.
Now they’re back with an upgrade, it’s name, as you might have guessed, it’s Model 2. OQO efforts of maintaining the same small body have succeeded, whilst the specs have been upgraded to a more powerful 1.5 GHz VIA C5 CPU, a 60 GB hard-drive, 1 GB RAM and full connectivity options: wireless 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR (Extended Data Rate) and Ethernet adapter. Optional, you can get wireless WAN with EV-DO modem.

Typical users of Model 2 must wear a shirt and a black tie
Using VIA’s platform has also other advantages, like the PadLock hardware AES encryption engine, integrated video engine VX700 that uses shared memory from main system RAM. Getting to the display, we are honored with a 5" 800 x 480 resolution screen that supports multiple external outputs: VGA, DVI and HDMI. The main system battery, with a capacity of 4500 mAh, is capable of powering Model 2 for about 3 hours. If that’s not enough for you then a second 9000 mAh battery can be purchased that extends the time you don’t have to use a power outlet to 6 hours.

OQO provides for Model 2 an extensive range of accessories, in the picture above we have a docking station
Also available as an option is a docking station that extends Model’s 2 connectivity capabilities and provides an optical drive with slot loading mechanism. With all those features it’s good news that the starting price is just 1499 $, lower than the 2000 $ asked initially for Model 1.
