O2 XDA Flame will offer dedicated 3D GraphicsDid you see what specs PDA producers are preparing for us this year? TI OMAP 200 MHz CPUs with 64 MB RAM, QVGA screen and Windows Mobile 6. The software is the only thing that moved on, while the rest of the hardware struggles to what we’ve seen for at least two years. O2 changes that, with XDA Flame.

What sets O2 XDA Flame apart is the 3D Graphics Accelerator, the NVIDIA GoForce 5500 and the internal 2 GB Flash memory, plus the regular 64 MB Flash for system partition. RAM is also upgraded to 128 MB, to allow true multitasking on the gorgeous 3.6" VGA screen. CPU is rated for 520 MHz, more than enough to run full screen DivX movies, without compression. Connectivity is also good, with WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, IrDA, USB On-the-Go and TV-Out. What’s missing is 3G support.

Camera phones lovers will be glad to find out that O2 XDA Flame has a 2 megapixel with autofocus camera. There’s limited info on battery capacity, as it will have to be pretty strong to sustain such power hungry features. For me O2 XDA Flame could have been the ultimate PDA Phone to date, but I don’t particularly like it’s shape, as I’m more of a Glofiish X500 shape fan.
