Match Box concept phone has no place in kitchen

For me designers are highly motivated people. They know that there’s a very big change that what they’re designing might never see the light of day, but they keep on going back to the drawing table, or Photoshop CS.

Match Box is one such design exercise, and from its name you pretty much get an idea on what it resembles.

What makes Match Box Phone special is that it doesn’t flip open but rather it slides open, like a regular match box. Its design seem a little childish but who am I to complain, playing PC games all day. Match Box was designed by Lv Zhongfang, who is industrial designer for more than 3 years in China, a place that gave a lot on nice design in past years, leaving behind the “me too” current, responsible for names like Adibas, Suny, Reobak and many more.
