Intel UMPC conceptIt is known that Intel is planning to promote the UMPC concept in the near future with some spectacular products. The idea is supported by the incoming new processors for ultra mobile PCs that are due to be launched on April 18 at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing. More about this here.

With the new CPU’s, with reduced size and improved performances, the UMPCs will be able to have more and more functions, meeting the over growing customer demands. But there will be a while since the Intel project from the clip below will hit the stands. Hopefully, not that long…

The video demonstrates the true UMPC concept. It can perform a bunch of different jobs and has a very smart interface. A multi touch screen and speech recognition are just a few of the improvements. Like you can see, the device will be used as a personal assistant, as a multimedia gadget or as a GPS, intelligently finding the best route and detecting traffic jams. All of these being done live, via a wireless Internet connection. Everything will be available with just a finger touch.

It’s nice to see the future, and it’s even nicer how the guys at Intel imagine it. All i can say is that i hope to live the day when i will have such a gadget in my hand… This really will be an amazing future!
