We have previously discussed the various 3DTV channels to be provided in the next year or so by TV network giants such as ESPN and SKY TV. Now, sources claim HBO is also jumping on the bandwagon of high-def 3D cable.
HBO is planning an on-demand 3D TV service and it will be launched early next year. While there has been no official confirmation of the 3D channel, an HBO person acknowledged that such a project is in the works.
The channel will offer movies such as Clash of the Titans and Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore with a per-play fee.
While inside sources claim the official launch of the 3D HBO channel will feature a converted „Inceptionâ€, neither HBO nor Warner Bros. are validating this statement. Moreover, converting a normal film to a 3D film is very costly and time-consuming, especially for the director himself who needs to judge every shot in order to decide on the 3D rendering.
With the new Batman movie coming along, Christopher Nolan might not have the time for rendering the 3D version of„Inceptionâ€, however, if this endeavor does come along, we’d be very happy to see the results.
