Habari takes on Wordpress supremacyIf you have a blog it’s likely that you use Wordpress as your blogging platform in it’s free hosted form or on your own server. What makes Wordpress so good: I think is it’s simplicity and flexibility. If you just want a simple blog you can have one in a matter of minutes and if you want to go pro you can extend it with thousands of plug-ins and make it look like a more complex website that actually acts like one.

Now that everything is setteled some of the people that offered us Wordpress joined once again to give us a better blogging platform, called Habari. If your Swahili skills are not that good we’ll tell you that Habari means "news" in the aforementioned language. More info on their plans can be found here and don’t you worry, they speak to us in plain enlish.

Just to sum up what Habari will offer we can tell you that it "relies on PHP5 with PHP Data Objects (PDO), and your choice of SQL database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite)". Habari also will fully support Atom Publishing Protocol and will facilitate AJAX integration. If Habari will live up to its expectations remains to be seen but I figure out that it’s success will rely heavily on you, bloggers.
