FlipStart Micro Laptop, full functions and small size
If you had enough with producer’s "ingenuity", that every year find new formats for systems (last year was UMPC), you might not want to hear that something new is on the works, that something having the name of Micro Laptop.
One such product is FlipStart 1.0, situated somewhere between UMPCs and sub-notebooks, from size and functionality point of view, but at a more affordable price point. Last saying is true if we refer to Sony Vaio’s UMPC with 32 GB SSD drive, which passes with flying colors the mark of 4000 $.

FlipStart 1.0 won’t win any design awards, but surely offers any function you want
What offers FlipStart 1.0 for a price list of 2000 $? Let’s start with the two screens, one 5.6 " with 1024 x 600 pixels and an external one, 1.9" with 220 x 176 pixels (used to display various informations, like emails from Outlook), Pentium M 1.1 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM and a 30 GB harddrive, mounted with shock protection. The OS is either Windows XP or Vista Business, but I wonder how much space is left after you install Vista.
Wireless connectivity doesn’t lack anything. We have Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G EV-DO Rev A connection via Sprint. For 2000 $ it would have been a pity to lack any of those features. Would I buy one? Certainly not, I prefer a Tablet PC with a 9-10" display, but surely I prefer it to a 4000 $ UMPC.
