FLAPCAM folds to protect itself, just like an armadillo

Like in automotive, industry not all IT concepts get to the final stage of actually becoming products, but without them there wouldn’t be any progress and everything will look the same. Today we’ll show you FLAPCAM, a design concept of a foldable digital camera, made by Mattias Lange.

At basis, FLAPCAM is a regular digital camera with a folding mechanism, that allows you to protect it’s optical elements and LCD screen when not using is. Also taking self portraits can be easily done by flipping the LCD screen toward you. Mattias also imagined the inside details that, hopefully, will allow FLAPCAM to enter production stage. Apparently Mattias has a crush on Samsung, as he put their logo on FLAPCAM’s design.
