The latest Lotus sports car is the Elise 211, a 700 kilos racer with a turbocharged 1.8 litres supercharged Toyota engine producing well over 200 bhp (252 to be precise), enough to propel the car to over 150 mph. Sprint from 0 to 62 mph takes only 3.8 seconds. Only 100 of these marvels can be produced every year so you better hurry to get one. Why would you want one, as it costs 40.000 £? Well, didn’t you read the performance figures? To complete the view, the Elise 211 features an variable traction control with 30 settings so that you can tweak the car towards over steer or under steer, whichever suits best your driving skills.
