Explay Nanoprojector is world’s smallest projector
What bigger and cheaper than a 100" plasma? The answer is simple: a digital projector. But those also have a lot of disadvantages: short lifespan of the projector’s lamp, low contrast, noisy and they’re too big for carrying around just to show a slide-show from your last holiday to a friend. A company from Israel, Explay, tried do solve the size problem of projectors and the end result is Nanoprojector, world’s smallest projector.
They managed to reduce size to a cigarette pack (20 cc volume and 5 centimeters in length). To do that they’ve used a combination of LASER and LED projection, that results in a more focused and evergy efficient picture.

For now Nanoprojector is available only as a prototype, one with battery and one without one, the latter being designed to be embedded in cars, passenger airliners, cellphones and other entertainment devices. The targeted price is attractive: 100 $, but there’s also a drawback, the QVGA (320 x 240) resolution.
