Electrolux VEGE hydroponic home appliance

Design contests are a usual practice for big companies to discover young talents, that someday may build their next success product.

Electrolux did that also, and one of the young minds come up with VEGE, a home appliance that will allow you to grow your vegetables in-house with the use of hydroponics.

VEGE looks like a windowed refrigerator, but it’s ecologic

If you remember Alpha Centauri, Sid Meier’s game, there you had hydroponics, but that was a few years ago. Tomorrow, hydroponics may be available to you also, VEGE being just a concept for today. In short hydroponics is a biology technique that uses a mineral substance to grow vegetable instead of soil.

VEGE will allow you to grow up to 40 plants and will remember you when to water them and, of course, when they’re ready to eat, or whatever you want to do with them. Interesting and clean are the words that come into my mind right now.
