Dell Latitude ATG D620 - built for cavemanIf you need a laptop for special environments with harsh conditions check out the latest offering from Dell, who joined this niche with Latitude ATG D620, a competing model for Panasonic’s Toughbook. From specs point of view, the new model is similar with Latitude D620, so we get the same Core 2 Duo CPU, 14.1" WXGA (1280 x 800) display updated now to 500 nits luminosity (the regular D620 has only 200 nits, making it impractical in outdoor trips on sunny days).

Getting back to features, Dell assures the employer that this notebook will be used only for work because it features the mega-slow Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 integrated graphics. RAM memory has a max of 4 GB DDR-2 667 MHz, power is provided by a 9-cell / 85 WHr primary battery and a secondary  6-cell / 48 WHr Li-Polymer battery, both benefiting from ExpressCharge function that reduces, you guessed wright, the charge time.

Now, the enhancements that make for the ATG part in the product name are a Shock Mounted 80 GB 4200 RPM hard-drive, rubber covered I/O ports, spill proof keyboard and last but not least the laptop casing treated with a special resistant paint. Ah, an if you wondered what ATG means, voila: All-Terrain Grade.
