Dell is trying to help emerging markets with EC280 desktop computer
I know that Mike just wrote about a small PC, a true Mac Mini contender, but I couldn’t help notice Dell’s new offering is a much cheaper solution if you want a small PC for your web surfing needs. The EC280 will be available only for China, at beginning, but demand could change that very fast.

The EC280 isn’t to be confused with a Mac Mini, which has a much cleaner look, but it’s pretty chic, if you ask me, and can be used as a set-top box, as it can be visually integrated in your living room. Spec are the only problem, as Dell is aiming at emerging markets, so for around 350 $ you get an Intel CPU (doesn’t says which), Windows XP, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive, DVD ROM drive and SiS integrated graphics. It isn’t exactly a block buster, but it does the job OK if you’re not planning to do gaming and photo/video editing.
