Clubman, the Mini SUV, coming soon?

I’ve always loved the Mini but i never thought i could be able to fir in one. Not because I’m a big person, but that car is really tiny. And of course there’s also the matter of price…

Anyway, seems that BMW is going to launch an SUV vehicle based on Mini, named Clubman, somewhere in the future. So, it just an over-sized Mini or something more?

Clubman, an oversized Mini for the American market

Nobody can answer this question yet, but rumours say that the car will hit the streets by the end of this decade. The SUV’s main target should be USA, as we know how Americans love big cars, that’s why Clubman is being developed in California and will be probably built in BMW’s factory in Spartanburg, next to other American top sellers, BMW Z5 and X5.

I think Mini Clubman will be situated somewhere between X3 and X5, but will catch specific public with the obvious British style. Can’t say I’m impressed from the pictures, but it’s a Mini after-all, and that makes it a best-seller by default.
