Classic landline not so classic with Philips ID9371 handset
Contrary to mobile phones, landline phones are not quite the thing these days. Philips tries to revive the old phone with its new ID9371 handset. How does it do that? By creating a fresh, clean and modern design, backed up by features that even some mobile phones don’t have. The sleek gloss finish make it desirable for a Beverly Hills condo.
Philips packed the ID9371 with modern technology, like XHD, that manages the sound quality, backlit display, SIM-card copy function (so you get the same numbers from your mobile phone, but I don’t know if it has built-in synchronization features) and a signal strength indicator. Also we have the typical caller ID, alarm clock and even answering machine.
ID9371, unlike many cordless phones, can store SMS messages and comes with three embedded games. Philips went event further and added a wallpaper function to the 128 x 128 pixels CSTN screen. You can even assign polyphonic ringtones to ID9371. As you can imagine, state of the art technology doesn’t come cheap: ID9371 will cost between 80 and 100 £, but you should remember that Philips really took care of everything, as ID9371 is covered by an unique soft touch material, so you don’t get goose skin when your mother in law calls you.
