Buick Riviera, a concept for the yougsters

Buick Riviera conceptMany of you claim that Buick cars are only driven by older people. Whether this is true or not, the average age of the Buick buyers is about to drop, after they launched the incredible Buick Riviera concept, in the Shanghai Auto Show. It was designed in China, but the results are impressing, like you can see from these pictures. The name is borrowed from the legend of the 60’s, called… ta-daaam: Buick Riviera. Now that was creative!

The Buick Riviera is designed to be a 2+2 sport coupe, equipped with gull-wing doors (Uau!) and a futuristic looking exterior line with a massive back part. Meant to expose the new design tendencies of the American company, a real road car based on this concept is not planed for now. Maybe they’ll change their mind after seeing the impact that the Riviera had over the community.

And the impact could have been even greater, if the car would have been finished on time for the Detroit Show that took place in January in the US. Still, since Buick has greater sales in Asia then in their home country, the marketing strategy seems pretty fit. Even though I’m not into American cars, the Buick Riviera deserves some applause, but still it ain’t an Aston or a Ferrari…
