AdvancedTCA for Carrier Grade Communication Equipments
The development in technology has changed a number of things around us. Developments of computers and mobile phones with advanced features are some of the major developments. A lot has changed in the computer and the mobile phone industry. A number of equipments and new technologies have been developed to incorporate advanced features. People involved in development and improvement of technologies are always looking forward to improve the existing standards so as to improve the performance of equipments.
Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) is one of the latest standards developed for carrier grade communications equipment. It is basically a series of industry standard specifications. AdvancedTCA incorporates next generation processors, new technologies, improved manageability and reliability. It basically provides standardized platform architecture for telecommunication applications. It has already been accepted by companies as over 100 companies are participating in AdvancedTCA.
AdvancedMC has also been developed to meet the requirements of the carrier grade communication equipments. AdvancedMC is a short for Advanced Mezzanine Cards which have been developed to work primarily with AdvancedTCA. AdvancedMC are printed circuit boards which follow specifications of PICMG, which is a consortium of companies which develop high performance applications. These printed boards are available in different sizes which have been developed to serve different purposes.
