Adidas 1 DLX Runner launched

Everyone loves sport shoes, and Adidas is one of the biggest companies in this domain. I for one have many many pairs, from extra sportive to casual, and i never wear any other kind of shoes. Adidas brought a new and interesting concept a couple of years ago: the smart sport shoe, equipped with a microprocessor. Today the model was upgraded to the second level, under the name Adidas 1 DLX Runner.

Like you might see from the name, this are running shoes for athletes and stuff. But can be also wore while jogging or going to the gym, as long as you are willing to pay their price. Cause, as i will tell you later on, they are not cheap.

But they are smart. The Adidas 1 DLX Runner have a built-in motor and a 20 MHz microprocessor which act like a command center, understanding and adapting the shoes to the runners’ needs. Unlike the previous model, this one has a lighter mechanical system and recognizes your running style, adjusting the cushioning level and remembering your best suited settings for each kind of terrain.

I would like to know how the algorithms on each are based this calculations look like, but that’s not really possible and I’m sure most people won’t be interested in this subject at all… They definitely take into consideration multiple aspects, like terrain roughness, the runners weight and foot size, pace, running speed. Very interesting. And if you’re not satisfied of the settings made by the microprocessor, you can override them manually, by pressing the "+/-" buttons on the sides of the shoes.

Adidas 1 DLX Runner look far greater than their predecessor and are even smarter

I would like to try these shoes somewhere in the future. I saw the previous model in shops, but its design was really awful. The DLX Runner looks a lot better, actually like something you would like to wear, coming in white or black leather. Unfortunately, like i said earlier, this product is expensive: around 290$ for a pair… Come on, few of us would afford that, even though you get in the package, besides the pair of Adidas 1 DLX Runner shoes, an User guide with a CD and two 3V lithium batteries for the "Brain".
