As the 3D scene is picking up momentum, claims are already being made for top-of-the line products that are not necessarily economically feasible, but make developers shine in the eyes of consumers. One of the unwritten wars waged on the 3D market is the one for the biggest 3D TV.
LG is taking credit for manufacturing the biggest LED 3D display. Their TV, at a whopping 72 inches, is dubbed the Infinia 72LEX9. It is so big that a normal person with their arms fully stretched can barely touch the edges.

Producers say it has a 480Hz TruMotion panel, 10 million:1 contrast ratio, wireless AV link, four HDMI ports and YouTube and Picassa support.
The Infinia 72LEX9 is to be launched on the market outside Korea in the second quarter of 2011. However, if you do not feel like going as far as 72 inches for the 3D experience, LG has numerous other smaller TVs already on the market you can choose from.
While the Infinia 72LEX9 is the biggest 3D LCD TV on the market today, it’s not the biggest 3D TV on the market. We have Mitsubishi to thank for that, as their 75 inch LaserVue is the biggest 3D TV on the market (and it has been, ever since spring), but it uses a different technology, not LED.

So there you have it, in case you didn’t think stuff could be more exciting than watching Avatar on a large wide-screen TV in 3D at home, you can always buy an ultra-large set so you’re fully immersed. Oh, and prepare to spend a lot of your hard earned dollars for this one!
